"Children For Christ"

Our Purpose:

The FBC Sanger Children's Sunday School Division "Children For Christ" is called to empower children to know, love, serve, and to become "Champions for Christ."  The Bible is our source of wisdom. We, as Christian leaders, encourage children to have a thirst for Biblical knowledge and a burning desire to apply its principles to their daily lives.  Our ultimate goal is to lead children to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind."  And, "Love your neighbor as yourself."  Luke 10:27, NLT

Children Division Grades: 1st through 6th Grades

Sunday School Times:  9:30 to 10:40 Sunday mornings

Schedule:

9:30 to 9:45 a.m. - All children meet in the "Praise and Worship Hall".  This large room is located upstairs.  Take the first door to the right and walk through the Resource Room.  During this time, the children:

- Sing praise songs
- Pledge to the American Flag, Christian Flag, and Holy Bible
- Recite Bible verses and passages
- Celebrate weekly birthdays
- Have opportunities to give to special offerings
- Sing worship songs
- Pray together as a large Christian family

9:45 to 10:40 a.m. - Children are escorted to their Sunday School classrooms, located upstairs.  There is a classroom for each grade, 1st through 6th, with two adult teachers in each classroom.  The Baptist Way Press curriculum, developed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas, is utilized.  This curriculum provides Bible study units, which are child-centered and lay foundations for spiritual growth.  Children participate in:

- Bible Study with Unit Lessons
- Memorization of Bible Verses
- Hands-on activities that encourage application and memorization of the lesson
- Ministry/Outreach/Mission Activities
- Prayer, including the importance of prayer and to learn to pray for others

The Children Division teachers act as mentors to each child and believe that children are a gift from God.  He provides children to us as a special sign of His love.  God has instructed us as believers to share Jesus and become workers together with God.

After Sunday School, during Worship Service, each child is encouraged to complete a "Children's Bulletin".  Completed bulletins are placed in a tray on the Welcome Desk.  Each semester, a fun event is scheduled for those who complete 10 or more Children's Bulletins.  The intent of the Children's Bulletin is to motivate children to participate and listen during each Worship Service and to become more mature in thoughtful, meaningful worship.
