A couple of guys who were not too smart drove their pickup truck into a lumber yard. One of them walked in the office and said, "We need some four-by-twos." The clerk said, "You mean two-by-fours, don't you?" The man said, "I'll go check," and went back to the truck. He returned a minute later and said, "Yeah, I meant two-by-fours."
"Alright. How long do you need them?" The customer paused for a minute and said, "Uh... I'd better go check." After awhile he returned to the office and said, "A long time. We're gonna build a house.”
“Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:2
You know, one person can build a house, but it sure is easier when you have help. Last week, we had over 180 children enrolled in our VBS! God blessed us with such a great opportunity and I believe our church really stepped up. We had over 100 adults helping every night: teaching the Bible, guiding the children, serving food, teaching about missions, leading in music, teaching arts and crafts, working in the parking lot to get the kids safely in the building and back to their parents, and welcoming them in registration. Some of you could not be there, but you gave money or food for the kids to have snacks, and believe it or not, snacks are a BIG deal to some of the kids. Some of you donated food or came to serve our volunteers in the hospitality room. That is a huge deal because it gives our volunteers the opportunity to fellowship with other members and get to know each other.
So, THANK YOU!
