Do You Hear That?

“If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with. But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realize that you have set it free....... You either married it or gave birth to it.”

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.”    Psalms 143:8 NKJV

What does God’s “loving kindness in the morning sound like?” When we read verses like Romans 5:8, we hear this kind of love.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”      Romans 5:8 NKJV

There may be other sounds we hear in the morning that are not as thrilling, like: the alarm clock, or a sick child, or our creaking bones when we get up, or a leak in the roof, BUT, as believers we can hear God’s lovingkindness every morning. When we hear the birds singing and see the sun rising in the east, we are reminded of our Savior that rose from the dead after defeating sin, death and the grave. When we hear children playing outdoors, we’re reminded of the unconditional love our Father has for us.

When we hear the wind blowing through the trees, we’re reminded of the gift of the Holy Spirit: God in us, leading us, encouraging us, teaching us, and convicting us of sin, “causing us to know the way in which we should walk.” And when we trust Him, we can live and love in the way He created us to do so. He cares about us and wants us to have a full life of His love and purpose.
