“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”   John 10:9-11

No joke this week! We've been robbed once again! The enemy, the thief has robbed us of joy, hope, even life! I was leaving for work Monday morning when I read about the horrible shooting in Las Vegas. Knowing our church had two members there, it was quite disturbing. After a long Monday, it wasn't until after 9:00 pm that I finally got more of the details, but information brought me no comfort. I recognize what is happening. The enemy is working overtime to distract, deceive, depress and defeat the world, even the church. After a month of natural disasters and more national division, we are hit with this senseless act of demonic violence.

Though we grieve with those grieving and hurt with the hurting, we know this story plays out: Jesus is the Overcomer! His grace can heal, His love can bring light. His presence can bring peace. He is our Hope! In the midst of the storm, we can have peace! Why? How? Our God is on the throne! I have entered the gate and I'm safe! If you know Jesus, you're safe, too!

This fallen world will throw stuff at us daily, to steal, kill and destroy, but Our Heavenly Father's light is constantly pushing back the darkness. I heard Las Vegas officials say there was too much blood! People all over the city had waited in lines for 6-8 hours to give blood for the victims! "Please don't bring any for a couple of days!” "There's too much food!"  They were not able to distribute all of the food donated to the families of victims. The light of love was breaking through the darkness! The joy will return! Pray for healing!
