The couple were led to the dentist's office, where he made it clear he was in a big hurry. "No expensive extras, Doctor," he ordered. "No gas or needles or any of that fancy stuff. Just pull the tooth and get it over with." "I wish more of my patients were as stoic as you," said the dentist admiringly. "Now, which tooth is it?" He turned to his wife... “Show him your tooth, Honey."

I know our church has supported our young members by giving scholarships to mission trips for many years, but it was so exciting to see our church get behind Turner Barnes. I mentioned that he needed prayer partners and around $400 to pay for his mission trip to Portland, OR, and in that one service, you gave the money, and some of you signed up to pray for him. Unless you’ve experienced this, you can’t imagine how encouraging it is to see your home church get behind you. Our Missions Committee wanted to show Turner, his family, and our church family how we support our members and especially our students in mission work. This is what a church family does, we support one another as we do the Lord’s work. Our church has been so faithful to support our students and adults that have gone on mission trips and our missionaries serving around the world! If you want to receive Turner’s newsletter to know how to pray for him, email him at: turnerreidbarnes@gmail.com

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”   Philippians 1:3-6
