This Saturday you have the opportunity to share that awesome news with the people of Sanger. We will meet at the church for breakfast at 8, then go out to our community and share hope. We will also be asking for opportunities to serve and bring benefit through practical acts of service. Join us in telling Sanger about a God who not only loves them, but gave His life so we might experience eternal life....Keep Reading
Everything has a price! Most of us want something, but we’d rather not have to pay the price or at least not the full price. I know some of us will spend more than you should, but if we think we got a good price, it was a good deal! This applies to our church as well, we all have things that we want from our church, maybe not a rebate on our offering, but we want something....Keep Reading
Have you ever imagined living in a society in which you could not access God’s Word? For us, that scenario is impossible to imagine. We can find a copy of the Bible in so many versions and phone apps that not having access to the Scriptures in our language seems impossible. But for individuals in 4,000 language groups in our world, access to the Bible is non-existent. These individuals have no possibility of hearing how much God loves them and the truth of Jesus....Keep Reading
I’m probably the only one that feels this way, but sometimes it seems like when I open my mouth, ears are closing up shop, like I’m Charlie Brown’s teacher: “Wah, wah, wah, wah.” And I just love the times when I’m totally misunderstood. I’m sure that most of the time, I just didn’t communicate very well, but sometimes it’s because someone wasn’t listening. But, imagine how the Lord feels when He is ignored and misunderstood because we’re not listening. ...Keep Reading

How should Christians react in a time of anger on both sides of the political aisle? I believe Micah 6:8 points us in the right direction. That verse simply tells us to live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Right is still right and wrong is still wrong. It is, and always will be, wrong to abuse anyone. We must treat everyone with respect and dignity, even those with whom we disagree. Those who abuse people made in the Image of God will, in the end, receive the just rewards for their abuse....Keep Reading

We spend a lot of time looking for things. It seems like I’m always looking for a file, a sermon, a book, a passage, or a hospital room. It’s great when you find what you’re looking for, but not so great when you don’t. What’s worse is when you’re looking for the wrong thing....Keep Reading

If we follow the example of the early church, we should be as committed to Bible study, fellowship and prayer. Baptists might interpret this to mean double down on the fellowship because the Scripture uses the word “fellowship” and it refers to eating together. However, the word interpreted “fellowship” is koinonia, which means to be a partner and to share a common interest - like unity. ...Keep Reading
As I write this Sunday afternoon, the building is starting to come alive. Workers are arriving for last minute preparations, decorations are finished, and now we simply await the arrival of the kids. We finished up our study of Experiencing God this week. Personally, I have been challenged in a couple of areas throughout the study. First, I have been more focused on watching to find where God is at work. In some ways I feel like a detective with the job of “catching” God at work. I have learned that God is at work all around me, I was just missing out on seeing His work....Keep Reading
I’ve rarely observed any sense of urgency when a child is asked to go to bed or a youth to clean their room, but what about us when it concerns eternity. It seems that many believers, not too different than ourselves, have bought the lie that our lives and concerns and agendas and plans are more important than the lost person’s eternity....Keep Reading
The process of making disciples sounds a lot like raising children. A new believer needs simple rules to start their life in Christ. They need to learn the importance of reading their Bible, praying, attending church and fellowshipping with other believers. In the very beginning of their new life in Christ, it is probably enough for them to see those things as rules to follow. But as they begin to grow in Christ, conversations need to occur helping them discover for themselves why those initial steps are so important....Keep Reading
As I looked at all the prom pictures of youth from previous churches and Sanger, I’m reminded of how fast time flies. When we come to the place where we put our faith in Jesus Christ to save us from our sin, we have to let go of whatever we have been trusting in or believing. Our good works, our intelligence, science, our hard work or whatever has to die to us, so that we trust in Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. “Dying to self,” or being crucified with Christ ends that life in flesh and begins our life in the Spirit, forgiven, saved and surrendered to Jesus....Keep Reading

We’re building something eternal in this life and it requires regular adjustments where we sacrifice selfishness to choose obedience. It begins when we repent from our sin and choose to follow Jesus. But it doesn’t end there, everyday we must choose to be obedient. Everyday we will be tempted to be selfish at home, at work, and at church. If we don’t make an adjustment and obey the Lord, we’ll slip back into selfishness and sin....Keep Reading

He sees our tears, but even better, He hears our prayers....Keep Reading
One of my favorite books in the Bible is Ephesians. I love that book, because the first three chapters detail what one might call “pure theology.” Then in the final three chapters, Paul discusses what I call “applied theology.” We need a solid grasp of what we believe without the hindrance of the messiness of life, but that must be followed up with serious thought as to how those beliefs intersect with life....Keep Reading
This past Sunday I tried to not shake any hands at church. Not because I am anti-social but because the stomach bug hit our house the night before. There is nothing wrong with taking a pot of chicken noodle soup and dropping it at the front door....Keep Reading
The first principle of Experiencing God is: “God is always at work around you.”
One of the ways He works is in our hearts to desire and to do His good works. It seems like too many church-goers today are satisfied with just that, going to church. Church attendance is not the extent of our purpose. Our purpose in this life is to know God and the Lord gives us direction here. “Let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Jesus.” To deny self does not mean to deny things. It means to give yourself wholly to Christ and share in His shame and death. ...Keep Reading

Pray for their safety and for God to bless their tenure in office. Pray for peace in our nation. Disagree all you want with election results, but do so with civility and gentleness. Let us, as followers of Jesus, stand with integrity and dignity honoring God with all we say and do....Keep Reading
We choose to do what is good, serving God and others. It's a choice. We can talk about loving God or put on the pretense of loving God, but it's seen in our service, so let our love be without hypocrisy. And before you start judging others and their motivations for service, don't go there, deal with the person in the mirror. What is the good choice? ...Keep Reading
That's the nature of being a servant, serving at the pleasure of our Master. So, are you serving on God's terms, your own, or not at all? In Christ, we are free, but we're called to serve on His terms....Keep Reading
Coming to Sanger one year ago, I hoped to develop good positive relationships with the Pastoral Staff. That hope has been surpassed in ways I could only dream. These men are more than co-workers, they are friends and fellow servants of Jesus. Your staff has one goal and works in one direction. Let's make sure these men feel our love and appreciation for all they do....Keep Reading

Sunday was awesome! We had 208 in our first hour of Bible Study and 171 in the second hour. Our newest class had 16 present and we were looking for 4 more. Both worship services were wonderful times of glorifying the Lord and the baptisms! This is an exciting time in the life of our church as we put it all on the line to reach this community and our world for Jesus Christ. ...Keep Reading

This speaks of values. Most of us think we are aware of our values, but are we really? Our attitudes and behavior reveal our values more than our words. Like the movie star that flew across the world to a conference on warming, but the fact that he took a private jet revealed that he cared more about his comfort than the environment....Keep Reading

I think in total, we had 50 kids go to R.A. and G.A. camp. Now that is quite a trip, not because of distance, but the purpose, Eternity! We get crossways when we start trying "to do something for God" or we replace obedience with our good intentions. The Lord gave Elijah clear direction, but he had to get to the place where he would listen. Are you listening? Which way are you headed?

Part of growing up is learning the difference between opportunity and temptation. Just because we have the opportunity, does not mean we need to do it. There are many good things that are opportunities, but they're not the best things for us, so they become temptations....Keep Reading
This reminds me of some of our men last Friday night at our R.A. Pinewood Derby races. What a great time and what a powerful statement was made as men in our church said with their actions that our boys are a good investment! There are so many things they could have been doing and so many places everyone have been, but Friday night was set aside for the Lord to use these men in the lives of our boys....Keep Reading
