How should Christians react in a time of anger on both sides of the political aisle? I believe Micah 6:8 points us in the right direction. That verse simply tells us to live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Right is still right and wrong is still wrong. It is, and always will be, wrong to abuse anyone. We must treat everyone with respect and dignity, even those with whom we disagree. Those who abuse people made in the Image of God will, in the end, receive the just rewards for their abuse. Those who defend the powerless will receive their just rewards. As followers of Jesus, demonstrate mercy, live justly and most importantly walk in humility in relationship with Jesus.

This Sunday afternoon, we will travel to Camp Copass to serve alongside other churches from the Denton Baptist Association. There will be opportunities for all ages to serve. Join us as we fellowship with other believers and worship together as we serve those in need.

Deacons and Mission Committee, please make sure you attend the Deacons Meeting on October 7 at 7:00 PM. We will be joined by the Director of First Refuge Ministries. The Pastoral Staff is asking your assistance in helping us hear God’s will in regards to some ministry opportunities. We have seen some doors opening but want to make sure we are hearing God’s voice as we investigate those opportunities. Everyone else, I would ask you to pray for God to speak clearly to the Deacons and Missions Committee. Once we feel assured we are walking in God’s path, we will bring information and ideas to the church as a whole for consideration.
