This Sunday was a mixture of rejoicing and sadness. We rejoiced at the baptism of Meagan Claiser. We rejoiced at the number of campers at the RA/GA Camp. We rejoiced with the Student Ministry as they prepare for their mission trip. We rejoiced with the Fathers who lead our families toward Jesus. But we experienced sadness, mixed with joy, at Andy’s announcement. As a church we should rejoice at the opportunity God provided Andy in Burleson. Andy may be leaving “vocational music ministry”, but he will continue serving as a minister in God’s Kingdom. We will send Andy out on July 2 with our prayers for his continued service to our Great King.

The Personnel Committee will meet Wednesday evening to formulate a plan for the worship ministry at FBC Sanger. Be in prayer for the Personnel Committee as they discuss options and prepare plans for moving forward. God has a plan for FBC Sanger, our responsibility is to discern that plan and start following it.

FBC Sanger is in a strong position, even with Andy leaving. Financially, we are very healthy. The Stewardship Committee will present a plan at our July Business Meeting to speed up the process of paying off our debt. Because your giving has been so consistent, we have the opportunity to use some excess general fund reserve money to pay down the debt. That will likely bring the Worship Center Remodel loan significantly under $100,000. This plan, if approved by the church, will set in place a model to keep a healthy reserve fund and use additional monies to continue paying down our debt.

I have been wondering why God has so richly blessed our church financially over the past year. I believe it is because we have added to our missions giving in both of our last 2 annual budgets. At a time when many would argue for lowering our missions giving, we chose to increase it and God has blessed. Thank you for being faithful to God in your giving.
