FBC Sanger experienced a great weekend of ministry and worship. I want to say a few thank yous in my article this week. Chris and the entire worship team led a great worship service. The band was minus a few members this week. I believe hunting season hit them hard! Who knew guitar players like to hunt? Seriously, I really appreciate how Chris took the band members who were available and produced some great music. When I said “entire worship team” how many of you put the choir in that group? I hope everyone did, because that is what our choir is. They are part of the worship team whether they sing an anthem or just participate in helping lead in singing. Make sure every member of that team knows how much we appreciate their willingness to serve.

Another thank you goes out to Deryll Friday and his team of volunteers at the Mobile Food Pantry on Saturday. I was unable to attend due to a prior commitment with the Denton Baptist Association. While at that meeting, a part of my mind was on what was happening at the church. Hearing the report that we served 89 families totaling 249 individuals made my heart glad. This was a great first step in our serving those in Sanger struggling with food insecurity.

On November 11 during the evening service we will have a Family Forum and Business meeting. One of the items we will discuss is possible future steps in relation to the work with First Refuge. Make sure to be at this meeting as we discuss ministry opportunities for our church. We will also discuss the 2019 budget at this meeting. You should receive a copy of the proposed budget via mail or email this week so you can take a look at the Financial Plan for the next year. The meeting on November 11 will be an opportunity for you to ask questions regarding the budget. The budget will be voted on without discussion  at the conclusion of the morning worship service the first Sunday of December per our by-laws.

Another thank you goes out to the Women’s Ministry and Deacons who honored our widows with a luncheon. The Women’s Ministry put everything together and our Deacons helped serve and honor our widows. I enjoyed watching our widows enjoy being treated extra special.

We have a lot going on here at FBC Sanger. Make sure you find out what is happening and join in the fun!
